On October 10, 2018 EUCCAN hosted a panel discussion “Women Mean Business” with female entrepreneurs and industry experts. We heard from Ms. Jasmin Ganie-Hobbs, Senior Development Banker at BDC; Ms. Sinead Clarke, Founder, The Irish Design House; Ms. Karima-Catherine Goundiam, Managing Director, Red Dot Digital;Ms. Geraldine O’Dowd, Owner/Director Psychometric Assessment and Talent Development; and Ms. Stephanie Dei, National Coordinator – Canada, UN Women; panel discussion moderated by Ms. Cathy Murphy, Vice President, EUCCAN.
Themes that were introduced and discussed during the sessions include: unique entry points into entrepreneurship, leveraging successes, funding opportunities and challenges, European women doing business in Canada, managing imposter syndrome and supporting each other. This free event could have ‘sold-out’ several times over as the women and men in the room clearly agreed that networking is by far the most impactful way to accelerate business.
EUCCAN would like to thank its partners for this event: The Ireland Canada Chamber of Commerce in Toronto, The Canada Poland Chamber of Commerce, The Delegation of the European Union to Canada, France – Canada Chamber of Commerce Ontario, The Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Longos.
